Ribbon Awarded

Definitions:

Cut flower: Two or more flowers or florets displayed on a single stem with secondary branches

Bloom: One flower displayed on a single stem, with a little foliage

Distinct: Different colours Floribunda: Cluster of flowers

NND: Can be the same or different (Not Necessarily Distinct)

Novice exhibitor: One who has not won a first prize in the section that exhibitor is competing


Potted plants:

· a winning exhibitor must not exhibit the same article 2 years running

· every plant must be established in the container in which it is shown and be free from pests and diseases at the time of judging

· plants must be the property of the exhibitor for a minimum of 40 days prior to close of entries

· Potted plants not to exceed 30cm AND have a water holding base e.g. saucer


All cuts to be staged by the exhibitor in bottle provided. with plug materials provided. Exhibits to be prepared on dedicated table.

Children are to bring their pets to the Show Hall at 5pm on Thursday October 2nd Free Entry

​Judging will commence at 5.30pm sharp, no late entries accepted.
 
Photographs of all children and their entries will be taken and subsequently displayed in the Children’s Section on Show Day.
 
Open to all Children aged up to 14 years.

1st prize each class – $15 voucher from Fleurieu Pet Pantry and 1st place ribbon.
 
2nd prize each class – $10 voucher from Fleurieu Pet Pantry and 2nd place ribbon.
 
Goodies Bag for all entries.

Rules and Regulations

1. Exhibitor must subscribe the membership fee to compete in Sections A, B, C, EB, and ED.
2. Only written, emailed, photographed or online entries accepted.
3. For the close of entries, refer to individual sections.
4. No entries taken on morning of Show except where specified.
5. No late entries will be accepted unless indicated.
6. Outdoor exhibits must be ready for judging on Show Day as specified for each class. Ring events by 9am except where specified.
7. All Indoor Exhibits must remain on site until 4pm.
8. The judges shall have the power to withhold a prize for an Exhibit they consider not worthy, but may award a lower prize in lieu thereof.
9. Sideshows must hold current Public Liability Insurance with a copy to Secretary.
10. The ruling of the Management Committee in any dispute shall be final.
11. All exhibits must be the bona fide property or manufacture of the exhibitor and all produce made or grown by the exhibitor. If any exhibitor is acting contrary to the rules, the Committee has the power to withhold all prizes awarded to them. All livestock must be the property of the exhibitor one month prior to Show Day.
12. No-one is allowed in ring except Judges, Stewards and persons attending stock.
13. An exhibitor who wants to protest shall give notice to Secretary (in writing) and pay a fee amounting to half the value of prize, no later than 4pm on day of Show. The fee shall be forfeited, if protest is considered to be frivolous by the Society.
14. Prize money for all sections except B will be paid in cash on Show Day from noon until 4pm. Prize money not collected by 4pm will be forfeited. All prize money payments will be made from Secretary’s office. Prize money for show jumping (section B) will be awarded by the judge when winners are announced.
15. All Indoor Sections must have at least 3 entries to award second prize.
16. Members and non-members are invited to exhibit anything rare or choice, without entrance fee, to add to the attraction of the Show.
17. No entry will be received from any person disqualified by any Society in Assoc. or by the Assoc. during the period of such disqualification. Should any entry be accepted, it shall, when discovered, be deemed void.
18. Due to health regulations, it is not permitted to consume food items entered in Show.

 


Southern Country Shows Association Rules
No entry will be received from any person disqualified by any Society in this Association, or by the Southern Country Shows Association, during the period of such disqualification. Should an entry be accepted it shall, when discovered, be deemed void and the entry fee may be forfeited.

SOUTHERN COUNTRY SHOWS ASSOCIATION 2025 AGGREGATE TROPHIES
The following trophies to be won outright during the 2025 series of Annual Shows affiliated with the above association by the competitor exhibiting in at least two (2) shows. To be won by the exhibitor who gains the Highest Aggregate number of points. Points allotted: First, 5 points; Second, 3 points.
